Mat Kearney Concert

A fun night out with Kel and Shane last night. Met for dinner at the 508 Club in Minneapolis, then made our way to the Mat Kearney Concert, at 1st Ave. Mat was especially fun to see LIVE, because we were able to hear Shane & Kels engagement song, along with Matt & I's wedding song (that Shane also played the drums too).

To end the night, we did a short walk to the Saloon, to see Ryan C. at work. While there, we were able to meet Santa Claus. If that was really Santa Claus....well lets just say, I have a lot to reevaluate about life... :)Shane ended our memorable night with a little number,up on a dance box, before leaving the Saloon. All in all, it was a great night out.

Vikings... family... friends

After a week and 1/2 of dealin with Kidney Stones, being in the hospital, and dealing with some crappy stuff at work, I have to say that this last Monday was exactly what I needed. I wish the rest of my family could have made it, but even in their absence, it was a great night.

The night included: 1) Hanging out with my brother, sister in law and my beautiful niece Raina 2) Gettin to see my best friend Nate and give him lots of hugs. He also surprised me by showing me a VERY meaningful tattoo he had just gotten that day (He is home on leave from Iraq)and 3) Seeing the Vikings beat the Packers which is an excitement all on its own. I also was able to see my main man, Allen, kick some serious butt (YAY ALLEN). To top it all off, I got the greatest gift from a co-worker that morning. She game me some Viking pj pants. They will be worn the next game:) During the Packer Game though, I had to wear my new Vikings jersey with my husband Matt (Notice Matts stylin hair that night).

It's a Miracle

It sure may not seem like a big deal to most. And it may seem like the "norm" for dogs to like to go swimming. Well for the last 3 years, it has been impossible to get our dog, Ranger, to swim. We seriously had tried everything in the book. Or at least we thought we did everything.... This last weekend, we decided to head down to my parents, to lay out in the sun at their pool. This time though, we brought a "Doggie" life jacket, which we never dreampt would work, but it was our last hope. Well, much to our surprise, Range truly swam for his first time that day, without us making him or having to throw him in. Matt and I were like true parents, even though it was our dog. We made sure to make everyone watch, and praise Ranger. Nana Bonnie, Papa Steve, and Auntie Jodi gave him all the attention and cheerin that he deserved. After fetchin his fisbee with his mom, and foolin around in the pool with his dad, he was more wiped out than we had ever seen. LOL. He spent the last while, drying off in the shade :)

Family Day 2009

When I purchased my (now Matt & I's home), I started the tradition of having an Annual Family Day, where I have my family up to the house and we spend the day together. The goal of this day, is to plan certain activities/events that we normally would not do otherwise. This years events included "Project Adrian (making homemade Christmas decorations/photo book/etc and wrapping presents to send to our soldier in Iraq that the whole family adopted earlier this year), "Painting Project (where each family member painted on our garage wall), and "Family Questions Revealed" (where each member was able to read the answers to questions, that the family had answered about them). And of course, when anyone needed a break, Raina was always available to be held :)

All in all, we had a lot of fun, and we took some pictures to help document the day.

Night out with fam

Tonight the family took me out to Tuggs for a belated birthday dinner. Jod and Ry were unable to make it due to feeling sick,so I hope she feels better. Mom and Dad gave me money for some dansko's .... YAY. And they also got the print from Ikea that I wanted....double YAY. And of course seeing Raina was always exciting. And to top off the night we got to see Shane hit the dance floor which is always exciting.

Bittersweet ending

Its sound ridiculous but in many ways, it seems just like yesterday that Heather was standing behind the A&W counter, and I walked in, and introduced myself to her. It was in March of 2003, that I started at the A&W. Who would have known that so much of my life would be transformed during/through a job. It has been an amazing journey that I will never forget. I have met many people that will forever be in my thoughts and memories. On August 19th 2009 I said my goodbyes, not only to co-workers, but a building that has felt almost like a home away from home. I can't thank Bonnie and Steve enough for helping me out all these years, and now giving my brother a job there.

Heath and I couldnt find any pics from all the years. Most of the earlier ones are on normal photos rather than digital. But we did find these 2 pics from about 2 years back when Heather brought El and Ky to come and see me at work. Good times. They will be remembered....but now I have new places to go. I will be starting my internship at Omegon next week.

A day out with Thomas (with Ky & El)

Uncle Matty and Auntie Heather bought tickets to take the boys (Ky & El= nephews) to see Thomas the Train. It was such a fun day. Besides riding Thomas, Ky said his favorite part of the day was the "Human Carwash", and El's favorite part of the day was the castle with balls to play in. In addition to all that, the boys were able to sit on big comfy bean bags to watch "Thomas the Train" movies, get new T-shirts from their Aunt and Uncle, eat hotdogs and fries for lunch, and play on the large inflatable slides.

The day then ended by going to IKEA to see rescue dogs that were up for adoption. Ky definitely loved this part. He cuddled up to all the dogs, who obviously appreciated all the lovin' he was giving them. What a fun day with the boys. Now, we come home and crash :)

Happy Birthday Heather

What a great night to start our first family blog. After my husband being gone for 3 days with his family on vacation, he drove home, just to have a fun birthday night planned for me. During our relationship, Matt has made me burnt hamburgers on the grill once, and also has made me some killer mac n cheese meals. He even has perfected cheese on a tortilla. Even though these are all very nice things, which I have always appreciated, Matt has never made me a REAL meal, and I say that very kindly :). But today, that has changed. I came home from work, already very excited to see him, but I was even more excited when I came up the stairs to wonderful smell, a set table, with even a typed menu sitting on the table, and my husband standing in an apron with oven mits in hand.
The birthday menu includes Beef brisket, garlic mashed potatoes, asparagus, and french bread. With a little tutoring and teaching from Cari, while he was at the cabin, he put together a beautiful meal for me. ON the TV, he had my favorite show "Army Wives" playing, with a few more downloaded episodes from Itunes to watch together tonight. Cari, Phil and the kids sent an awesome sweatshirt from Huddles Resort for my birthday. After dinner, Matt gave me my present, which was white gold hoop earrings (Way to go Matty). And if thats not enough, he also sent me a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a balloon to work today. And for once it was not carnations :) My baby is learning :) I have to say that my husband beyond surprised me, and I have yet another reason, to say I am one of the luckiest girls in the world.
