Seems like yesterday....

It seems like only yesterday, that we were announcing our pregnancy with Bostyn. Yet, here we are to actually announce that we are expecting a 2nd little peanut. Last Friday, we were able to hear our babies hearbeat. Bostyn listened proudly, wearing her new "Big Sister" shirt :)  The confirmed due date is March 15, 2013.
It was an exhausting 1st trimester, so we are definitely ready to move onto the 2nd. Before you know it, we will be announcing whether Bostyn will be welcoming a little brother or sister, so stay tuned....

Giving and Getting...

Two weekends ago, the Oborn family got together, and celebrated all the summer birthdays. Kellie and Shane hosted a potluck and bonfire at their home, which was very much appreciated.

Beforehand though, we all had the opportunity to be a part of a really cool experience (Thanks to Kellie for the idea, and for setting it up). We all went to a place in Chanhassen, called "Feeding my Starving Children," and volunteered for a 2 hour time slot ( http://www.fmsc.org/ ). I would recommend that EVERYONE do this at least once. Its such a neat opportunity, the time goes quickly, and you are left amazed at how much you can really do/give/provide in a short amount of time. You leave, truly feeling like the time you spent there, really mattered. The Oborn assembly line, had a hard time getting in synch (imagine that...) but after awhile, we were rocking it. Once the 2 OCD's (as Matt put it) were running the front of the line, Jod getting the "puff" and bag rhythm down, and Shane directing his attention from our "special guests" to the set task, we all were dancing the same dance.

Getting the instructions before starting the job

We were the proud members of "Cell 2", who packaged a total of 23 boxes by the end of our shift

The 2 OCD's helping with clean up. We literally had to peel mom away from the sink, as she was very disturbed that she could not find any Lime-Away and bleach, to clean the sinks a little more.
Oh goodness...

Memorial Day Weekend

A fun filled weekend in Faribault, for the Ackborns. Bostyn hung out at Auntie JoJo's on Saturday, so Mom and Dad could get away for a belated anniversary night out. On Sunday, it was off to Auntie Cari & Uncle Phils, for a fun night with the Cruikshank/Zolik/Tuma family for Alex's birthday. On Monday, we fit in more family time. Matt & Bostyn started out the day, by having lunch with Grandma Lisa. Later on, back at Nana & Papa's house; Heather's Grandma & Grandpa, her Aunt Debbie, Cousin Tara & her son, Wyatt came over to visit for a bit. Wyatt and Bostyn were born 2 months apart, so it was fun to get them together for some play time.

"It's okay..."

Once mommy convinced Bostyn she was safe, she got brave, and cuddled up with daddy, to watch the storms pass by...

More than just a night at Menards...

Heather, Bostyn and I went to meet John Randle at a grand opening of a Menards in Maple Grove tonight!  Both Heather and I were blown away at how HUGE this John Randle fella is.  Fun night, only had to wait a little over an hour to meet a man I have always been a fan of.

Enjoying the night...

Even though in slippers and pjs, she talked us into letting her out on the deck.  Lol... Looks like she still loves it. She especially likes talking to daddy through the window. :)

In a Nutshell

The last month has flown by, and we just have not had a chance to do much blogging. So, here are the last month's highlights for the Ackborn family.

Uncle Nate came to Visit:

This is my (Heather's) birthday gift (extremely belated...LOL), from Nate, that he finally remembered to give to me. It is probably the best birthday gift, I have ever received. He got it for me, when he was on his last tour in Iraq.
It includes a US flag, and a certificate that basically states:
"This is to certify  that this flag of the United States of America,
was proudly flown in honor of Heather Ackborn,
over COB Basra, Iraq...."

Basra was the Headquarters of Nates "Red Bull" Infantry Division, while he was in Iraq. This specific flag was flown there, on my birthday, Aug. 14th. And as I already said, but will say again...It was such an amazing gift, and an honor to receive it. Thanks Nate :)

Getting some very fun gifts from Great Grandma & Grandpa

Listenin' to some tunes with my cousin Tan...

Just chillin and having a drink with Daddy:
Sometimes a girl's just gotta let her hair do what it wants to do. :) LOL

"I'm a pretty Big Deal...":
After guest appearing at Auntie Kellie's classroom, I got to be a part of Uncle Taylor's homework assignment (Human Development Class). He came to my house and asked Mommy and Daddy a lot of questions about me. After that, he observed me do many things. He even did some experiments with me, and from what I could tell, I "Aced" most of them. :)

Celebrating Cousin Adam's birthday
with the Tuma's and the Zoliks:

Playing with Auntie Jodi and her doll house. I loved it so much, that she let me take it home with me. "Thanks Auntie Jodi"

Kisses for Auntie

Hangin' out with my Auntie Cari, and sharin' some of my nummies with her :)

Feedin' myself like a big girl

Check out my cool handy dandy highchair, which Auntie Cari rigged up for me

I love spending time with the "big kids." My cousins are so nice to me. I especially had a lot of fun with my cousin Adam :)
